Nashville Fire Department Investigates Arson at Petway Avenue Home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Fire Department Fire Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance for information regarding an arson fire that occurred on Petway Avenue during the early morning hours of November 24, 2020.

Around 4:39am a call was made to 9-1-1 that reported the single-family residence fire at the corner of Petway Avenue and N. 12th Street. NFD personnel responded to the location and found the structure fully involved.

When crews initiated the fire attack, the roof to the residence collapsed into the interior of the structure forcing fire crews to take a defensive approach. Crews contained the fire from spreading to nearby properties, preventing further damage.

Fire Investigators determined the fire was started intentionally and deemed it arson. Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about those involved with starting this fire.
