NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Robert Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary School will be closed to students and participate in virtual learning for two weeks as a result of COVID-19.
“While we believe the risk of transmission based on the circumstances of this situation is low, health protocols dictate that we take this step in order to protect the health and safety of staff and students,” said Director of Schools Dr. Adrienne Battle. “Our staff will continue to work with students to provide a meaningful learning experience in the virtual environment until the school can safely re-open.”
21 staff members and one student are required to be quarantined because of a COVID-19 exposure by a staff member who tested positive for the virus. Health privacy laws do not allow us to identify those individuals.
As a result, the school will be closed to in-person learning for two weeks, and students will learn virtually until October 29, 2020. This includes students in grades 3-4 who were scheduled to attend in person starting on October 20.
