NASHVILLE, TN– Dr. Joseph Webb, CEO of Nashville General Hospital has recently been appointed to America’s Essential Hospitals (AEH) Board of Directors. The AEH association operates nationwide to advocate for hospitals and health systems dedicated to high quality care. For nearly four decades, the association has preserved and initiated policies that protect community access to primary care.

As a newly selected appointee to the board of this national organization, Dr. Webb will take on a multitude of responsibilities that will further solidify his role as a leader in healthcare. The AEH will rely on Dr. Webb, along with his fellow board members, for guidance and strategic oversight. Board members are selected through a vote, serve a two-year term, and make decisions related to policy positions and activities.

In addition to attending quarterly board meetings, Dr. Webb will also continue to serve on the association’s educational committee. As a part of this committee, Dr. Webb plays an integral role in organizing the annual Vital conference by determining which research submissions will be presented at the upcoming conference.

“I am excited about the opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity for this national organization. AEH allows me to share my years of healthcare knowledge in its efforts to build a stronger national healthcare delivery system for patients of every socioeconomic status,” says Dr. Webb.

During this year’s Policy Assembly the board will travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of Congress and federal agencies to advocate on behalf of hundreds of Essential Hospitals across the nation.
