Audio Released of Trump Demanding GA Secretary of State to Find Votes Needed to Win State

In an hour-long phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Saturday, President Trump falsely claimed it was “not possible” for him to have lost Georgia, and asked the secretary to “find” the 11,780 votes he would need to win the state. This number is just one vote over the margin that he would need to beat President-elect Joe Biden.

In the audio first reported by The Washington Post Trump is heard saying the following:

“The people of Georgia are angry. The people of the country are angry, and there’s nothing wrong with saying that, you know, that you’ve recalculated,” Trump said on the call. “All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have… Fellas, I need 11,000 votes, give me a break.”

Raffensperger, a Republican, continues to maintain that the election in the Peach State was legitimate and accurate.

Below is a snippet of the conversation:

The New York times reported that the call may violate both state and federal laws but charges are unlikely to be filed.
